We were really sorry to hear of the death of Cllr Dan Filson this week.

The last Kensal Green Streets event of the year was in September at Furness Pocket Park. It was a lovely day with music, juice making, face painting, head massage and food. It is now time to plan next year's activities and we would like to hear from you about the activities you would like to see KGS organising for next year. See picture below!

The future of policing in London.  You might know that the Met were proposing to cut all the Neighbourhood PCSOs (community police) in London.  As a result of the significant political and public opposition the Met has pushed back a decision on the plans until December. So this is an opportunity to continue putting pressure to save the PCSO's. Below is a link to sign a petition - http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/save-neighbourhood-policing-in-london.

Odessa Road potholes. We have been in touch with Brent regarding the number of potholes on Odessa Road but so far without much success. They say that this road is not due to  be resurfaced and that they will deal with the 'defects', if they consider them a priority. Cllr Hector has also been in contact with them.  They have actually ackowledged a 'defect' a few metres away from the junction with Palermo Road. Anyway, we will be much more effective if many people ring to complain.  Just ring 02089375050 and keep choosing other options until you get to roads. It might be useful to ask for a report number, so that we know it has been logged.

Trees. We have been told that new trees will be put in Palermo Road and Odessa Road to replace dead ones. The stumps were removed this week. No dates yet.

Junction of Furness Road with Harlesden High St. This junction is going to be looked at, as part of the improvements in traffic flow in the area. We have asked the Brent transportation department to be informed about the proposals so that we can let residents know and ask what they think - and we have been sent a copy of the outline of the Concept Plan which is being discussed with TFL. This junction is on the Strategic Route Network. They seem to be only looking at traffic flows but we are also interested in pedestrian safety. If you are interested in looking at this proposal do get in touch. The plans suggest that the slip road and island will disappear and there will be a left turn and right turn filter. Please let us have any comments. One of the options is shown below.
