To mark this year’s National, Neighbourhood & Home Watch Week (15th-23rd June), a new initiative called ‘Support a Watch’ is being launched on Monday 17th June by Neighbourhood & Home Watch Network (NHWN) to promote Neighbourhood and Home Watch projects which identify a need for additional resources or support. ‘Support a Watch’ centres around a page on the OurWatch website which will feature up to ten Neighbourhood or Home Watch projects at a time for periods of three months. Each project will have a page dedicated to it with background information, a description of what it does, successes, aims, aspirations, pictures and contact details. However, ‘Support a Watch’ is more than just a web page. NHWN will also promote the project in various other ways. The aim is to help attract money (and in-kind support) directly to schemes that need it. If you, or any of the Schemes in your Borough, would like to take up this opportunity, you can download further details and all the information you need from the following links: Leaflet about the ‘Support a Watch’ initiative: www.ourwatch.org.uk/resource_centre/document_library/support_a_watch_leaflet_for_coordinators Briefing and application guidelines: www.ourwatch.org.uk/resource_centre/document_library/support_a_watch_briefing_application_guidelines Application form: www.ourwatch.org.uk/resource_centre/document_library/support_a_watch_application_form The deadline for the first batch of applications is 4th June. Although the aim is to showcase all projects, if NHWN receives more than 10 applications, it will decide which ones to feature first. NHWN will consider time-sensitivity when making such a decision. The aim is to highlight all the best bits of your work and make your project look as good as possible so a member of staff from NHWN may touch base with the key contact for more information.
