You might have noticed that a number of fruit trees have been planted in Furness Pocket Park. At least one of the projects in hand has been achieved! There are a number of other issues that we are pursuing, for example, the weeds in the Pocket Park, the state of the flower bed in Palermo Road and contacts with Willesden Junction station. We have had plenty of promises on the first two but no action yet. On Willesden Junction, we had a meeting in November with the people from Energy Garden and a member visited several stations along the line with them a week ago. Watch this space for developments! The manager of the station has been contacted a few times by Councillor Jun Bo on a number of issues we raised, but he has not received any reply. It is all very frustrating but we keep trying.
A couple of residents brought up the state of the railings at the junction of Furness Road and Wrottesley Road some time ago. Brent did a study about the possibility of removing them. They concluded that it was safe to remove them. We are now waiting for it to be done but don't know when.
There is another application for development from Disotto. It has apparently addressed some of the previous issues that were raised, but we don't know the details. If you are interested in knowing more, please contact Cllr Claudia.
Below this post are pictures of some of the station gardens visited last week and Brent Council workers planting the fruit trees in our pocket park.
