2 Kensal Green Streets Clean up/Exchange Day on Saturday 25 April from 10am - 12. Find leaflet attached. The nearest skip to us will be at the corner of Rucklidge Av in front of Furness Pocket Park. Don't bring builders rubble, furniture, tyres. There will also be a table at the Park for exchange/reuse items so if you have anything that is still useable please bring it along. Also books CD, DVD. If there is stuff left over at the end, you can either collect it again or we will take it to a charity shop.
3 Reporting flytipping to Brent Council or requesting a free bulk item removal (3 free removals per year, up to 5 items each time). Telephone number 02089375050. You can also report it on line. Very effective service.
4 Disotto's planning application for development in nos 3, 3A Furness rd. Many of us objected to some aspects of the development and Brent Council refused their application. Disotto has appealed against Brent's decision and the process is now going to the planning inspectorate. We should resubmit our concerns now - the deadline is 29 April. Some of the people who objected initially have received letters from the Planning Inspectorate telling them what to do, others not. It is actually a very simple process just an email with a few objections and your name and address. You can repeat the same points you made in the initial objection.
5 Jetset club clientele anti social behaviour. This issue has been raised at a number of meetings but so far we have not been very successful in dealing with it. The noise and disturbances affect mainly the houses at the beginning of Palermo rd and Rucklidge Av. Other residents who sometimes come home late at night have also expressed concerns re some behaviours observed. This happens mainly on Friday and Saturday nights. Together with Rucklidge Av residents plus Cllr Claudia we are having another go at improving the situation, but we need residents' cooperation. If you hear any noise from the Jetset Club or witness anti social behaviour please ring 101 (non emergency police), report it and please ask for a report number. Ring also Brent Council Noise team until 2am tel 02089371234 and also ask for a report number. This is very important as it ensures it is recorded. Without this, there is nothing we can do. If there are enough complaints we ask for action to be taken.
And last but not least if you want to help with our activities this week or get more involved with the Odessa Palermo residents group, or have ideas about what you would like to happen/ be done in our area please let us know. Any feedback is welcome.
I hope you enjoy the daffodils in the Pocket Park.
