Past events:

Sunday 9 September - Neighbours Day at Furness Pocket Park. This was a very successful day when many people, reflecting our multicultural community, came together and got involved with various activities. The already famous freshly pressed apple juice from our local apples, lovely food from our own very special local cook,  the traditional and always popular face painting, relaxing massage, music to keep feet moving and a very popular crafts table, as always surrounded by engaged people of all ages. A pleasure to see. We also saw our local SNT police who came in a very unusual+-+-+ police car, a definite attraction.

Tuesday 11 September - SNT meeting, a well attended meeting where the main concerns raised continue to be antisocial behaviour and drug dealing in the area. PC Jenkins reported on what is going on and what they are doing, Simon Egbor from Brent Council anti social behaviour team also spoke about the problems in the area and what actions they are taking. The day after this meeting, Brent Council and the Police were having a special  meeting to coordinate better their work and find new ways of dealing not only with the problems but also with some of the underlying issues. They will involve mental health and drug addiction organisations, families, Town Centre managers, businesses. They will look at vulnerability, sex workers, etc. Brent is recognising the seriousness of the problems and taking a more holistic approach to them.

In the meantime  if you want to contact the Brent antisocial behaviour team you can email Amar.Karia@brent.gov.uk
