KENSAL GREEN - ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENT MEETING ON 20 NOVEMBER

17/11/2012

Dear all,

The meeting with the residents coming together to discuss developing an environmental improvement project in Kensal Green will be held on Tuesday 20th November at 7pm at Casa Nossa, 75 Park Parade. They have a meeting room at the rear beyond the bar. As this meeting is called by ward councillors it will be fully inclusive to the residents in the area. Julia Straker has agreed to put this on the HTT webpage as an event and I will ask our web team to do the same with the Brent Facebook page today. Residents from the four residents associations below are invited as well as those who live on the surrounding roads who have an interest in becoming involved with the local groups as we will be promoting the Harlesden Connects meetings.

1.    REACH Resident’s Association (Harlesden Gardens, Park Parade and surrounding roads)
2.    Rucklidge Avenue Residents Association
3.    Junction Association
4.    Odessa & Palermo Residents Association

This will support the overall regeneration of Harlesden Town Centre and we would like to propose that four community groups come together with their efforts, resources and ideas. This initiative is being supported by Kensal Green Ward councillors through Brent Ward Working. Please circulate this to others in your groups who may be interested and I look forward to seeing you next Tuesday.

Kind regards

CRIME REDUCTION PARTNERSHIP NEWS

The latest edition of Crime Reduction Partnership News is now available at www.crp-news.com.

OPERATION TERMINUS

The MPS launched the Operation Terminus custody project on 1 October.  Operation Terminus incorporates the embedding of UK Border Agency (UKBA) staff into police custody suites across London to deal with offenders that are found to be foreign nationals in an effort to improve identification and handling of offenders who are foreign nationals and offenders who are wanted abroad. A third of all persons arrested for criminal offences in London are foreign nationals.  Whilst this is merely reflective of the overall population, it nonetheless amounts to over 70,000 prisoners a year.  Operation Terminus is a determined effort to improve the MPS’s ability to deal with this third of all criminality in partnership with UKBA and international law enforcement.  UKBA has significant powers to deal with such criminals who are either illegally in the UK or are failing to comply with the 'being of good behaviour' conditions of their UK residency by causing harm and risk to others.

That’s all for this month.  As usual, on behalf of LNWA, thank you for your work and support.
