Careful on the local streets folks. A young lady who was on a moped herself has just been mugged outside my house on Palermo Road (just after 10pm). Two men on a moped came alongside her, pushed her to the ground and rode away with her moped. The poor lady was shaken but not obviously hurt. The police were called and they did come to take a statement.

Time has come for an Odessa Palermo residents meeting, but as you know other residents from the local area are very welcome, as our issues are the same. Most of the time we communicate via emails but it is important that at least once a year or when any pressing issues arise, we should have an actual meeting. Cllr Jun Bo and possibly Cllr Claudia will be attending and we also hope to get PC Jenkins from Safer Neighbourhood Team to attend.
The residents meeting will be on Tuesday 10 October from 8-9pm at St Mark's Church. This is your chance to raise any issues you might have, particularly to PC Jenkins and the Councillors and to get to know some neighbours. We will get reports from them so that we'll know what is happening in the area Our Neighbours Day last Sunday, went down very well. It was a lovely day. The music, the food and the apple juice were excellent. Three people were cutting apples from 12 to 5 non stop and all the juice got drunk. The massage and the face painting were also non stop. We want to thank Brent Council for the grant that enabled us to pay for the food and the artists without having to ask for contributions. This was part of Brent Council 'Love where you Live' initiative. The estate agent True Associates also gave us a contribution to the expenses. We also want to thank the residents who offered their 'apple trees' to be picked and everybody who helped. We had between 200 to 300 residents at different times and many passers by stopped and joined for a while. We will photos available soon at the Kensal Green Streets blog and Odessa Palermo blog. |
