As you know we had the Safer Neighbourhoods Team SNT meeting about 3 weeks ago. We're still waiting for the minutes but it was a good meeting with plenty of information. Local residents were strongly encouraged to report any incident. It does not have to be a serious incident. For example anti social or agressive behaviour, drug dealing, noise in the early hours, etc This is the only way they can build the picture of what is going on in the area. You can contact 101 and get a reference number. If it is an emergency you ring 999. You can also send an email to KensalGreen.firstname.lastname@example.org
We have had some good news about an application that was made to the Council for change of use of 284 High st Harlesden (above the Jet Set club) from housing to a hostel. Cllr Claudia Hector informed me that there is a recommendation to turn it down on the basis of 'Resisting housing loss'. A hostel could be problematic as it would increase the transient population in the area.
Kensal Green Streets KGS held last Saturday another education/publicity event regarding Dog Poo in Furness Pocket Park. The councillors were there and we commented how the situation has improved since our previous event. Hopefully the combination of these events, the Council signage and the fines, is working. We have made the local news with this event. Kilburn Times this week has a photo and some information about it.
As you know one of on going issues is the cleanness of our local area, including Willesden Junction path If you see that the path is dirty please just mention it to the person in the ticket office area and ask him/her to pass the information to the manager. The same if you notice that the plants in the station have not been watered. There is no point in planting and not watering. If more people make comments, good and not so good, the more likely is that the station manager will know that the community cares.
