This is a reminder about two events this week: Odessa Palermo neighbourhood watch meeting on Tuesday 21 January at 8pm at St Marks Church Hall (Bathurst Gdns). Claudia Hector, one of our Kensal Green Ward Councillors will be there. We also hope that a community police officer from the Safer Neighbourhoods team will also attend. Mosaic for Furness Pocket Park (leaflet attached). We need your help to make this mosaic. The event will take place on Saturday 25 January between 10.30am and 3.30 pm at at St Marks Church Hall (Bathurst Gdns). Free refreshments. No previous knowledge is needed because the workshop will be led by experienced mosaic artists. It is open to everyone and families and children are warmly invited to join in (minimum age 5 years old) www.kensalgreenstreets.blogspot.co.uk Our next Odessa Palermo Neighbourhood Watch meeting will be on Tuesday 21 January at 8 pm at St Marks Church in Wrottesley Rd. This is your opportunity to raise any concerns, find out what is going on in our area, hear Councillors and hopefully Safer Neighbourhoods Team reports.
You may have noticed that Furness Pocket Park at the bottom of Furness Rd is shaping up very nicely with many new plants and bulbs (see pictures below). Well, it will soon be even nicer when we complete our community mosaic. This will be done also in St Marks Church on Saturday 25 January from 10.30 to 3.30pm. For all ages. Children welcome accompanied by adults. When the mosaic is finished it will be transposed to the Park and 'inaugurated' at the beginning of April. The design has already been done and we just have to contribute our 'bit' and have fun. Regarding a different issue, rubbish collection, many residents were surprised, puzzled...on getting a tag on their rubbish bins telling them that if the bins are not placed closer to the front of the garden, the rubbish will not be collected. Considering the size of our front gardens I cannot see how we can get them any closer to the front. Fernanda has contacted our Councillor Claudia Hector and she is in touch with Brent to let them know of our concerns and find out what is going on. Seasonal greetings to you all and don't forget the 21st (8pm) and 25th (10.10 - 3.30) of January. |
