This website has been designed to help the residents of Odessa Road and Palermo Road in London NW10 to communicate with each other about Neighbourhood Watch and similar issues. We had our first ever meeting on 6 January 2009 at St Marks Church Hall, All Souls Avenue and since then we have met regularly, organised several 'street' parties and kept an eye open for each other.  Current concerns include burglaries, street litter and dumping, the development of the town centre, traffic and parking.

We  are a not-for-profit informal group of local residents who are proud of our community and keen to develop a greater sense of connectedness and friendship. Please feel free to get in touch if you have something you would like to share about our community.

If you'd like to post some information  -  email it to odessapalermoblog@gmail.com

Direct access may come later - we're working on this!

The animals on the Neighbourhood Watch logo are meerkats. What makes them so special is their natural instinct to work in teams to keep themselves and their young safe. Like members of a Neighbourhood Watch, they take turns to go on look-out duty, watching for anything that might threaten the group. They are alert and vigilant and act unselfishly to warn fellow team members of anything suspicious. As Sir David Attenborough put it ‘their strength is their unity’. Neighbourhood Watch is about being part of a community team whose members work to protect each other from crime and anti-social behaviour and to improve the quality of life in their area and to ensure everyone in their community can feel safe.

As neighbours we work together:

·      To implement crime prevention initiatives in our neighbourhood

·      As a local network to distribute local crime information and advice

·      To provide intelligence to the Police on criminal and anti-social activities

·      To lobby our council and other local agencies for improvements to our area

A successful Neighbourhood Watch

·      Brings people closer together

·      Creates a stronger community spirit

·      Helps to reduce crime and peoples' fear of crime

·      Strengthens links with the police

·      Develops closer relationships with our council and councillors

·      Improves the local environment and creates a better quality of life
